Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting sealed bid proposals for the design & replacement of approximately 160 Door locks and Keyed cylinders and any necessary Locks and Hardware with a Grand Master Key System in the Wythe County Circuit Court Building 225 South 4th Street & General District at 245 South 4th Street, Wytheville VA. All proposals should be marked “Circuit Court/ General District Locks” and to the attention of Martha Collins, 340 South 6th Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. Some guidelines are as follows:

Contractor should provide pricing for all of the options listed below.

  • Provide a Grand Master Key system and door schedule for all doors.
  • Replace all key cylinders and any necessary hardware.
  • Furnish 24 Grand Master Keys, 24 Maters keys for each master key set & 12 Keys for each individual keyed door.
  • Furnish a Box of Key blanks.

General Notes

  • All demolition materials will be removed and disposed of by the contractor.
  • Contractor will supply all labor, tools, and material to complete the job.
  • Contractor will coordinate with the Wythe County Buildings and Grounds Department.
  • In addition to the proposed price the contractor will provide a certificate of insurance, a copy of their contractor license, a schedule of work start and completion time.
  • Payment in full will be made within 45 days of final inspection and submitted invoice.
  • Contractor is required to do a site visit to get a list of all materials needed.

 

Wythe County Board of Supervisors is accepting bids for grass mowing on forty-three (43) different sites. A full copy of the bid specifications including bid sheet and maps may be obtained at the Wythe County website www.wytheco.org or by contacting the County Administration Offices at 276-223-4500.

 

All bid proposals are required to include the mowing outline (filled out with the bid price for each site per week, monthly cost, and annually based on 31 weeks), insurance certificate, and a list of equipment, e.g., mowers, trucks, trimmers, and edger’s. The Wythe County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to give the citizens served by the Wythe County public water system an opportunity to comment on a proposed rate change. In accordance with the Code of Virginia Section 15.2-2119, and subsequent revisions, the Wythe County Board of Supervisors proposes to change the rates charged for water services as follows:

Wythe County, VA (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

2024 Austinville Sewer Improvements

Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the County Administration Office Board Room located at 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA 24382, until Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

The Project includes the following Contracts:
- Austinville Sewer Improvements Phase II including the replacement or installation of approximately 4176 LF of 8” gravity sewer and appurtenance.
- Austinville Wastewater Treatment Plant, Trickling Filter Wall Repair including the repair of deteriorating CMU trickling filter wall.

The nonrefundable cost of printed Bidding Documents is $300 per set, payable to Mattern & Craig plus a nonrefundable shipping charge. Upon Issuing Office’s receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the prospective Bidder’s delivery method of choice; the shipping charge will depend on the shipping method chosen. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Bidders must be licensed as a Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. The bidder’s attention is directed to the requirements of Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia. Withdrawal of bid due to error shall be in accordance with Title 2.2, Chapter 43 (2.2-4330, Paragraph B.1) of the Code of Virginia. The project will be funded through the Virginia Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund (VCWRLF) Program as administered by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality Southwest Regional Office (DEQSWRO). MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders must comply with the following: the President’s Executive Order # 11246 prohibiting discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex or national origin; the President’s Executive Orders # 12138 and 11625 regarding utilization of MBE/WBE firms; the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Davis-Bacon Act; American Iron and Steel provisions contained in Subpart J of the VCWRLF Contract Inserts, and MBE/WBE provisions contained in Subpart C. Bidders must certify that they do not or will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin.

A joint pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM local time at the Wythe County Administration Office Board Room located at 340 South Sixth Street, Wytheville, VA 24382. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but not required.
